If so, you're fortunate. You're also in the minority. According to America Saves and the American Savings Education Council, many Americans are falling short in those areas. However, the groups say that with more encouragement and support, that statistic can change and more families and individuals can build wealth instead of debt.
That's the idea behind America Saves Week, an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status.
