The Personal Investment Enterprise Program recently learned of the Colorado Women's Education Foundation that provides scholarships to Colorado women of non-traditional student age for study at accredited educational institutions of higher learning or vocational training in Colorado.
The Colorado Women’s Education Foundation’s (CWEF) mission is to invest in women who are transforming their lives through education…for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic ability, leadership skills, career goals, and community involvement. To be eligible applicants must be:
- A woman at least 25 years of age
- A U.S. citizen
- A resident of Colorado for at least 12 months prior to the application deadline of May 31
- Enrolled in or attending an accredited educational institution of higher learning or vocational training (Applicants can be earning a certification, or associates, bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree.)
CWEF has celebrated 40 years as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing scholarships to high-achieving Colorado women of non-traditional student age working for economic self-sufficiency through education. CWEF depends entirely on donations and wants to do more to empower women. Since its inception, CWEF has provided well over 500 women with scholarships totaling more than $400,000.
ABOUT THE PERSONAL INVESTMENT ENTERPRISE (PIE) PROGRAM
The Personal Investment Enterprise (PIE) program is a local savings program provided through Community Action Programs of Boulder County and Foothills United Way. The program is designed for low-income families to enroll in financial literacy classes and save through a matched saving account at a rate of 4 to 1.
