The third annual bilingual Thrive conference that was held Saturday, April 24th at Front Range Community College was attended by 77 community members. The conference is a point of connection for individuals to develop resources in assets for older adults, business, career, personal finances, and education. This one-day opportunity is all about making connections for a brighter future.
Guio Bravo, a presenter and member of the Thrive Steering Committee, said: “I want to congratulate Eliberto and Nino for a very successful Thrive conference. You both know how to call community to participate and I am proud to be a part of this event. People were commenting how much they appreciated conferences such as Thrive being available in English and Spanish, many enjoyed the presentations and kept asking about what will be available next year.
A big thank you to Gabi for her assistance and support throughout the day! ¡Mil gracias por toda tu ayuda!”
Gabi Rivera, also a member of the Steering Committee and representative from Front Range Community College, supported this collaborative conference by assisting in securing the donated space and coordinating much of the logistics the day of the conference. Front Range Ambassadors assisted attendees to their classrooms.
After attending two workshops, attendees connected over lunch provided by Community Action Programs and learned about community resources at the Thrive Resource Fair, including Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, Bank On Boulder County, Boulder County Housing and Human Services, Front Range Community College, Personal Investment Enterprise Program and Workforce Boulder County.
Questions such as: “When is the next one?” and “Why can’t we do this more often?” could be heard in the hallways. Attendees left inspired to take the next step in their financial and career path, accessing resources for older adults, business development and/or education.
Volunteers of Foothills United Way’s Volunteer Connection provided excellent customer service to attendees by assisting with registration, photography, and set up.
The Thrive conference is provided thanks to the support of the following organizations: Workforce Boulder County, Boulder Small Business Development Center, Boulder County Area Agency on
Aging, Boulder County Community Action Programs, Boulder County Housing & Human Services, Front Range Community College, Boulder County Area Aging Services, Foothills United Way and Boulder County Public Health.
