In addition to the PIE program, Mile High United Way provides six programs that you may be of interest to you. They include Tax Help Colorado, Careers United, United for Business, United for Schools, United for Families, and Bridging the Gap. Please read below for additional information about these programs.
Tax Help Colorado partners with community organizations and volunteers to provide free tax filing assistance to families with low- to moderate-incomes. Volunteers are trained to help qualifying families claim valuable credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit. Call 2-1-1 for the closest tax site. Community advocate can find the sites through the 2-1-1 database.
The Careers United (Workforce Development) Program increases access to quality employment and job training to promote economic security and mobility within Mile High United Way’s service area.
The United for Business program helps small businesses with no-cost business advising and consulting services. We partner with organizations and volunteers across the community to meet help meet the needs of entrepreneurs in all stages of business ownership. United for Business is made possible through support by Wells Fargo.
United for Schools supports families and their children with improving academic achievement. United for Schools particularly focuses on attendance and family engagement.
The United for Families program combines community-based efforts and collaborative partnerships to advance early childhood educational access and positive outcomes for young children (0-5), their families and caregivers.
Bridging the Gap connects young adults who have exited the child welfare system with housing and other personalized support services that guide them as they transition into economic and financial independence.
ABOUT THE PERSONAL INVESTMENT ENTERPRISE (PIE) PROGRAM
The Personal Investment Enterprise (PIE) program is a local savings program provided through Community Action Programs of Boulder County and Mile High United Way. The program is designed for low-income families to enroll in financial literacy classes and save through a matched saving account at a rate of 4 to 1. The first step in applying to the program is to attend an orientation meeting with Diana Sanchez at Community Action Programs at Boulder County.
